Automated Telephone Booking System
Following the recent Cyber Attack on NHS computer systems, we regret to inform patients that we have had to turn off our Automated Telephone Booking System as it doesn't comply with NHS security requirements.
We would ask that patients switch to using our internet booking service instead. You will need a PIN number to access this service which can be requested by speaking to one of our reception staff.
Dr John McHugh
White Medical Group would like to inform all our patients that Dr McHugh left the partnership on the 31st March 2017.
Dr McHugh has worked across Ponteland, Wylam and Stamfordham surgeries on a full time basis since 1989.
Dr McHugh states that he has been very fortunate to have spent 28 years working and serving in a lovely community with patients that he regards many as his personal friends. It has been a privilege to serve them and their families through many generations. It has been a very difficult decision to leave the partnership, but he feels it is the correct one to enable him to continue clinical work but at a different pace.
Dr McHugh would also like to thank his excellent staff who have enabled him to continue practising for so many years. He is confident that he leaves the practice in good hands to face the future NHS challenges.
Any personal messages can be left with reception staff and will be forwarded to Dr McHugh.
Care Quality Commission (CQC)
White Medical Group was inspected by the CQC in April 2016. They awarded the practice an overall rating of 'Good'.

Dementia Friendly Initiative
White Medical Group has signed up to this initiative which is being promoted by the Alzheimer's Society. The aim is to ensure that our staff better understand Dementia and are able to provide support when needed.

Online Access to your Medical Record
Patients are now able to access their medical record online. This includes medications, allergies and medical conditions. To order to access this information you will need a PIN number. This is the same PIN number that gives access to online appointment booking and repeat prescription ordering. If you do not currently have a PIN number then please contact one of our surgeries to request one. (Please note that in order to access your medical record you will need to provide proof of ID before this is granted).

Online appointment booking and prescription ordering
Patients can book routine GP appointment and blood tests online by clicking on the button below. This will also allow patients to order repeat prescriptions.
In order to use this service you will need to register. If you would like to register please inform one of our receptionists and we will arrange for a PIN number and details of how to access this service to be sent to you through the post.
Normal Opening Times
Our current opening times are as follows :-
The following changes to our normal opening times are due to take place :-
Wylam Surgery will no longer be open every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and will close at 12.50pm although we will continue to run some afternoon surgeries on these days.
Stamfordham Surgery will no longer be open on a Wednesday afternoon and will close at 12.50pm.
Extended Opening Times
We also run some early morning surgeries at our Ponteland Surgery starting at 7am. These are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings although the actual opening times will vary from week to week.
All these surgeries are for routine, pre-booked appointments only as urgent medical cases will continue to be dealt with by the Out of Hours service outside our normal opening hours.
